Why It’s Important to Find a Good Mediumship Teacher

The universe will often send you the person you need to help you move to the next stage in your life. This person does not need to be in a classroom or Circle.

I talk about how it all came to a head during a healing session, where the veil was removed and hey presto! All the spirits came to say hello. Orbs, camera flashes without the camera, hearing my name called when no one is around (this still happens occasionally).

Something was happening, and I was fortunate enough to work with someone I could talk to about this. C suggested I attend a Circle.

C and I had worked for the same company for years, and we’d say hello, but nothing past that until we had to share the same office due to building works.

We grew close and would discuss everything and anything. She would talk to me about spiritualism and her beliefs. Although I always knew the spirit world existed and had had several unexplained incidents, I hadn’t thought that much about it. Over the years we shared that office, she introduced me to spiritual churches and Circles.

C is the one that did spiritual healing and fully opened up my abilities.

This took me to my first Circle. As I’ve mentioned before,[insert link] the teacher was challenging, but she taught me the basics, and I will be forever grateful.

Often on TV and in books, it seems that you see a spirit, and they start talking linearly.

Nope.

The most common experience is that you know a spirit is with you and maybe even see them. Still, they communicate via images, single words, songs, and they will use your mental library to tell their story.

The messages do become coherent, but it takes time and practice. And trust.

During those first classes, I was taught the importance of grounding and protecting, opening and closing—which I detail in my post on having my spiritual ritual. How to tell spirits’ stories, understand the clairs and the difference between a psychic* and medium.

Since then, I’ve attended many workshops, courses, and 1:1 sessions, and each class has taught me something, good or bad.

When the student is truly ready… The teacher will Disappear.”

Teachers and Mentors

I was fortunate that I found teachers through recommendations when I started training. Now, I when get a feeling I need to do some learning more. I ask my guides and then do a google search, and I always find what I didn’t know I was looking for.

A good teacher should always start with the basics, regardless of the competency level of the group. This ensures that the energies that come through are for the highest good.

Let The Students Speak Their Truth

Depending on where you are studying, you will only be allowed to give messages from a loved one in spirit. Not a spirit guide, elementals, angels. Just uncle Fred. I must admit I don’t understand this – one of the things I’ve learnt over the years is that messages come through anything. Faeries, angels, ascended masters, and spirit guides, I think they, should be allowed to speak. Their voice is just as valid as a loved one in spirit.

We are all different, and spirit knows us better than we know ourselves; they will choose how best to use your gifts and which energies strengthen your communication. I’ve seen beings come to me that some may find scary, but my spirit team knows what I can and can’t handle and will work accordingly.

If you have a teacher that forces you to stop connecting in a way that works with you, maybe that’s not the suitable class for you.

I know some spiritualist churches will only allow communications with loved ones who’ve passed on. If I’m on the open platform, I speak with my spirit team and ask that they only bring deceased relatives.

A good teacher will allow you to explore your abilities in a safe environment. This can be tricky as they want to keep you safe, so they will have to set ground rules but still enable you to grow and find your way.

Classes

Classes are an excellent place to start. You’ll meet like-minded people, and, in the suitable class, it can be a lot of fun.

1:1

Good if you want to focus on a particular area or have questions. Sessions don’t have to be expensive, and I paid around £10 for 90 minutes.

As I always say, trust your gut and ask the universe to help you find your teacher.
